Jason is a 19th-century American wood type design, not a modern digital invention. It originated in the era of large-format printing (circus posters, broadsides, advertising), when wood type was preferred over metal for large sizes. Jason Caps was redesigned by TypeFaith Fonts. Jason Caps is an all-caps font with lovely ornaments. Use the glyph palette to select the ornaments. Jason Caps comes in two fonts: normal and distressed.
Wood type fonts are strongly associated with 19th-century American printing, especially posters, circus bills, and advertising. They’re known for bold weight, condensed proportions, serifs, and high visual impact—all qualities that worked well for large-scale printing with wood rather than metal.
